7-8 September I Ronald Reagan Building & International Trade Center I Washington D.C.

Interview with Luc Provost, CEO, B Medical Systems and Emmanuel C. Njoku, CEO, Prezzo Shed Investments Nigeria Limited

Find out more about B Medical Systems project in Nigeria, where 40% of deaths of children under five were attributable to vaccine preventable diseases prior to 2012. The successful deployment of B Medical Systems products has positively contributed to improving Nigeria's low routine immunization rates. B Medical Systems plan to repeat the success story in DRC, where it is in the process of installing a large number of SDD products in very remote areas.

Luc has highlighted that the main challenge for B Medical Systems is not related to supply of quality cold chain solutions in remote areas, due to the reliable network of 120 partners across the world. However the challenge lies in improving relations with GAVI, CHAI, PATH and UNICEF to eliminate the administrative hurdles which can delay projects and result in unnecessary casualties among the children. The other challenge is to further develop sustainable solutions which offer 10 years of efficient service to its users.

Global Disaster Relief Summit gathered over 300 senior decision-makers from UN and government agencies, Red Cross, NGOs, military, donors, foundations, research institutes and the private sector actors involved with delivering aid relief and resilience programmes with an aim to address challenges related to enabling quicker and better response during crisis and catastrophes.
The 70+ expert speaker panel shared valuable insights, lead thought provoking discussions and lively exchange of views on a range of vital topics including emergency procurement strategy, data & ICT, humanitarian logistics, disaster response management, health resilience, emergency health & WASH and financing of disaster relief.

As an organisation, the Aid & International Development Forum (AIDF) strives to be a catalyst of cross-sector collaboration and innovation by bringing together all stakeholders from government, UN agencies, intergovernmental agencies, NGOs and the private sector at the various AIDF Summits.
