The Aid & International Development Forum has partnered with Nonprofit Tech for Good on the second annual edition of the Global NGO Online Technology Report.
The 2017 Global NGO Online Technology Report is a research project that seeks to gain a better understanding of how non-governmental organizations (NGOs) worldwide use online technology to engage their supporters and donors.
Over the last two decades the global NGO sector has embraced online technology, but economic and political factors and the quality of Internet infrastructure regionally often affects how well NGOs worldwide can use new technology. Not surprisingly, there is a gap between the utilization of online fundraising tools and social media by NGOs in high-income nations and those in developing nations.
Based upon data gleaned from the 2017 Global NGO Online Technology Report, this infographic highlights how NGOs worldwide use the Internet to build awareness and raise funds to advance their mission and programs and elevate their online brand, including:
Sponsored by the Public Interest Registry and researched by Nonprofit Tech for Good, the report summarizes how NGOs worldwide use web and email communications, online and mobile fundraising tools, and social and mobile media.
The report is groundbreaking in that it is the only annual research project dedicated to studying how NGOs use online technology on a global scale. Now in its second year, this year’s report has nearly double the number of survey respondents from last year – 4,908 for 2017 compared to 2,780 for 2016 – and the findings provide a solid foundation data to assert benchmarks for success.
