Technology Times

Science and technology sector remained neglected in Pakistan; both at public and private level. Even, when it came to development or criticism, there was no media to address the issues. We all know that media plays a critical role as it is one of the primary means through which scientific and technological issues are brought to the attention of general public. The reality of science for most people is what they experience through media channels. Good reporting allows people to evaluate scientific and technological issues and make rational along with personal choices; poor reporting can mislead a public that is increasingly affected by science and technology. This is how the need for science and technology media took place and the concept of weekly (future's daily) newspaper “Technology Times” evolved.

Technology Times, launched on 4th January 2010 as a weekly newspaper in broadsheet layout, circulates 20,000 of its copies every week throughout Pakistan in universities, industries, public sector institutions, and private sector organizations. More than 86,000 registered subscribers are being served through its e-Paper.

The objectives of Technology Times are to disseminate scientific and technological information among masses; to project Pakistani scientists, industry professionals, and technopreneurs; and to develop academia-industrial liaisons for bridging their gap.

Technology Times is concerned about every aspect of scientific and technological development of Pakistan but it focuses more on issues related to agriculture, climate change and environment, conventional and renewable energy, higher education in science, engineering, and technology; and info-communication technologies.
