Since 2007, Mercy Corps has been an NGO leader in building digital payment channels for the underserved. Using a 2013 Visa Innovation Grant, Mercy Corps has expanded upon existing work focused on digital financial access in rural areas by offering Indonesian smallholder farmers a full range of tailored digital payment options to improve productivity and profits. The program, called AgriPay, is based on the development of a scalable and replicable model to provide access to digital payments and financial services, including loan repayments.
